Assessment Reporter

Introducing the Assessment Reporter - the new feature designed to empower our customers with the ability to effortlessly report on the results of an assessment definition, so that within three seconds you can find what you need to do.. Our customers have spoken, and we have listened. With Assessment Reporter, you can now use assessments in the way you want, with the ability to easily identify issues, follow-up actions, and execution details.

This feature presents a matrix visualization that is intuitive and easy to use, displaying questions/categories on the vertical axis and assessments on the horizontal axis. You can view the answers to the questions and quickly identify if something "bad" occurred, whether there are open follow-up actions, and where the assessment was executed. Assessment Reporter comes with two layouts, Small and Full, which can be used on Dashboards or Reporter Tabs. Our user-friendly interface and configurable properties, make it a breeze to use and our filters provide you with the flexibility to customize how to view of your data.

With Assessment Reporter, you have everything you need to effortlessly report on assessment results and take necessary actions. Experience the power of Assessment Reporter today!

The assessment reporter component needs to collect a lot of data to show the report. When assessments have many questions this could take some time, however as ServiceNow has time quota’s on certain transactions it could take longer then allowed.

We therefore added a page size property to the reporter component. If you load the reporter and get the following warning “An error occurred while loading this component, please contact your system administrator“ it could be possible it’s taking to long to get the data. If this is the case please lower the page size property of the assessment report component.

  • R11 OOTB Page size property value for assessment reporter component: 20

  • R12 OOTB Page size property value for assessment reporter component: 10

With the introduction of the new Assessment Reporter, we are facing out the old (Worker Portal based) Assessment Reporter. Please keep in mind the following timelines:

  • R11: Introduction new Assessment Reporter. Only bugfixes will be done on the old Assessment Reporter.

  • R12: Old Assessment Reporter deprecated. Only critical bugfixes will be done on te old Assessment Reporter.

  • R14: Old Assessment Reporter will be removed.

Assessment versioning

In R11 we have introduced a new

Equipment and Work Area Overview

Screenshot of the Equipment overview

One of the key features of 4Industry is that all data is grouped together in one database. This allows for the easy visualization of all the data for example Equipment and Work Areas. In R11 we are introducing the Equipment and Work Area overview, allowing you to have one overview of the status of your equipment, related knowledge articles and important tasks.

Failure modes

Two new improvements have been added to Failure Modes:

  • We now support multiple Equipment Models through the Equipment Models list reference field. Important: please note that the Equipment Model reference field will be deprecated in R12.0. Please plan accordingly.

  • We also support generic Failure Modes. These can be configured by not adding any Equipment Models to a Failure Mode and adding the 'enable_show_empty' on the Field Configuration. For details, check out the documentation here.

Experience Configuration Management

Faceted Filter

Nowplatform mobile

Based on customer feedback, we have learned that knowledge may be difficult to find at times. Therefore we're introducing Faceted Search to allow for more extensive filtering capabilities. With the Faceted Search Filter in UXF, you can configure different sections ('Facets') that give clear options on how to filter the content, as well as a Sort By section. For more information on how to configure the Faceted Search, read this article.

For more information on Faceted Search, check out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faceted_search

Currently, we support Facet Filtering in three places: the Knowledge Base and Assessment Reporter on desktop, and all the tabbed lists views under Tasks on mobile.

NowPlatform

On desktop, we support filtering on any kind of field type. For the Knowledge Base, a field should be on the Standards Table (x_ap4_scm_core_task_definition). For the Assessment Reporter, a field should be on the Assessment table (x_ap4_assess_assessment_instance). For details on how to configure the Faceted Filter on desktop see https://4industry.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IM/pages/110133289 .

Mobile

On mobile, we allow you to filter on four categories: when, where, who and what. Additionally, you can sort on different date fields. For details on how to configure the Faceted Filter on mobile, see .

Improvements in findability

Though the visual style of the Knowledge Base was a highly rated feature, the lack of filtering capabilities made it at times difficult to show the right information. In addition to the introduction of the Faceted Filter Component (see above), we’ve therefore also added the following features:

  • Show the document type (eg Assessment, Job, Maintenance etc) on the card.

  • Provide default placeholder images. No more blue boxes!

  • Added a List View option, to show more details when needed.

And a lot of smaller UI/UX improvements.

Mobile API v2

Nowplatform mobile

Creating and moving configurations between instances can be challenging at times. A baseline is provided in the 4Industry product and then update on the client development environments to fit the needs of your factory. Before this was often done through the use of Update Sets. This process can be time-consuming.

In R11 we created a completely new Mobile API scope that allows for the user of Application Files. Simply said, this makes it easier to see which configuration changed compared to your own customizations.

Though we have provided multiple different scripts and instructions (details to be found in ) to make the migration as easy as possible, it is recommended to plan sufficient testing time to ensure a smooth go-live.

Quality of Life improvements sync

Together with the renewed Mobile API, multiple technical improvements have been applied to improve the speed of the synchronisation of data to mobile. Changes that have been made:

  • Redesigned all the syncs to sync only the data that is strictly necessary.

  • Make sure the sync triggers more often so data gets downloaded in smaller chunks.

  • Aligned the syncs between the mobile platforms so exactly the same data is send and received at the same time

Quick Sync

In addition to the above improvements, R11 introduces a new sync type called the ‘Quick Sync'. When a user requests or updates a task, it is now possible to exactly determine which tables (including the table of the current task) will be synced. This gives a balance between having a sync that doesn’t take too long with having the correct data available. For more information on how to configure the quick sync and examples, please take a look at the documentation here.

Operator Experience

Nowplatform

Just as with the Equipment and Work Area overview (see above), we now also have an Overview for all the different Task Definitions (soon to be named: Standards). In this overview, you’ll see at a glance which tasks have been created from that Task Definition/Standard and what the outcomes were of those. You can find this overview by going to the Knowledge Base and clicking your preferred Task Definition/Standard. The first tab you’ll see is the Overview with all the details.

In addition, the Builder tabs are now always visible, so you can review the content of the Task Definition/Standard without having to create a task for it or go to the legacy view.

Skill Management

Nowplatform

We're excited to announce the launch of our new Skill Management module, which is designed to enhance your manufacturing process. This module makes sure that the right people with the required skills are in the right positions.

With our Skill Matrix Builder, you can effortlessly analyze the skills and skill profiles you need, and compare them against various user groups or even individual users. This feature allows you to track and manage your workforce's skills and certifications easily.

You can also set up expiration dates and add certificates to quickly identify who is best suited to handle specific tasks and who needs additional training. Our module provides a way of representing different skill types, such as multiple levels, individual skills, and certifications, in a skill matrix that color codes the status of the skills.

Share your Skill Matrixes with other users, with edit or write-only permissions, enabling collaboration. This feature makes it easier to optimize your team's performance or streamline your hiring process.

In summary, our Skill Management module has everything you need to succeed in managing and enhancing your workforce's skills, from tracking and analyzing to sharing and collaborating. To find out how to configure and use the Skill Management module, check out this page.

Translation Management

Nowplatform mobile

  • In previous releases, we faced challenges with maintaining translations through our Translation Management application. With Release 11, we have rebuilt the table structure and improved the application to make translation management easier for both the product and implementation teams.

  • For more information on the new features and process, please visit . After installing Translation Management R11.0, please follow the setup steps outlined at to ensure everything is correctly configured."

Mobile platform

Job migration to One Task

In R11 a major 'quality-of-life' improvement has been made by migrating the Job Management module to the One Task principle. This entails that any feature you are able to configure for a task such as Deviations or Assessments, now also works for Job Management. You can think of configuring a Sign Off, toggling the Work Notes or setting up Dynamic Tasks.

Task Management

Task Sign-offs

mobile

Many of the users of 4Industry are under different compliance rules, meaning they must be able to guarantee that the user that actually fills in the Task is the actual person. To solve this, we have added the ability to have sign-off configured for every task.

You can activate the Sign Off per Task Type by going to Table Configuration > Table Name > Form Configuration > Check 'Sign Off'.

Added languages

The following languages are now supported by 4Industry:

  • Brazilian Portuguese (Português Brasileiro)

  • Czech (čeština)

  • French (Français)

  • German (Deutsch)

  • Japanese (日本語)

  • Polish (Polski)

  • Portuguese (Português)

  • Russian (Русский)

  • Spanish (Español)

  • Thai (ไทย)

Breaking changes

  • Smart Focus Actions have been deprecated. The module has been removed from the menu and the table has the '(deprecated)' tag.

  • Requesting tasks when offline is now no longer possible, in order to prevent unexpected behaviour.

  • Though it wasn’t supported before, we now also actively block the usage of multi-line input for translations since this can cause problems while translating.

  • External Assessment through the old Service Portal has been deprecated. The Checkbox has been removed from the form and any related scripts are disabled.

  • The push template for assessments now it’s linked to task instead of assessment. When updating to R11 this needs to be configured or else notifications for assessments won’t work correctly.

  • The 'Searchable' field configuration has been deprecated. When searching in a list on mobile, it will search on all fields that are available on the device for that task.

  • Only hex colors are supported for all configuration types (lists, homecards, smart focus, etc).

Known issues

  • If no active internet connection is available and a user switch takes place, the user is now prompted with a notification that tasks can only be uploaded when logged in with that user. See this page for details.

  • When clicking the search icon in the OOTB list component, the previous entries are removed. See this page for details.

  • There is a known issue where the application has issues with the usage of non-Gregorian calendars. See this page for details.

  • Boolean toggles on the standard Forms in mobile cannot be made mandatory, since they always have a value. The work around is to configure a Choice list with the values ‘yes' and 'no’.

  • Grouped Tasks can be added inside a Grouped Task, creating loop problems. The work around is to make sure to not add a grouped task inside of another grouped task.

Other notable improvements

NowPlatform

  • With R11 we have upgraded to the Utah release of the NowPlatform!

  • Removed flickering when filling in choices in the assessment executor.

  • Multiple UI/UX improvements in Assessment Management

  • Fixed weird cursor behaviour in the signature field.

  • Multiple improvements in the UI/UX of the Operator Experience.

  • All information related to the configuration of a module can now be found under Table Configuration.

Mobile

  • List Layouts now show an error message when an incorrect JSON is loaded for that task.

  • Fixed an issue where the link template sometimes doesn’t work in push notifications.

  • In mobile, the ‘Info’ tab has been renamed to ‘Details’.

  • The Smart Focus component now makes use of native UXF components.

  • When you configure a field on a form, we now make sure that the data is also synced to mobile. Before you needed to configure the field separately in the Sync Configuration.
